Used all my words today.

I read/heard somewhere at some point in my life that a woman speaks a certain amount of words (25,000) each day....sort of a quota of the day. And of course the men's number is considerably less (10,000). ***I am the queen of useless information. I store it like a squirrel with a nut in winter!***

Today I spent 4 glorious hours talking my head off with an old friend. We don't see each other often and it's always great to catch up. I've been following her blog for a couple of years and she had no idea I even blogged!!! I invited her to step into my crazy!! She is officially the only person I "know" who reads my blog!!! (We sooo should have taken a pic together so I could post....but I didn't even think of it!!!!) So here are some high school shots...she may never speak to me again!!

She's going to KILL me....1998 PSG

Only to be fair...me on the far left, Laura on the far right.
(My 'fro - life pre Chi was hard!!)

So the scale did this terrible bounce Monday morning. I'm not even going to share the number...I'm just going to say that the birthday weekend bit me in the arse!!! I'm working it slowly back down. I hope to at least not show a gain on Sunday's weigh-in!!

We got our adoption packet in the mail yesterday!! It is full of basic information and includes a checklist of things to expect on the road to adoption. We will have several inspections...so I now have less than two weeks to work on the big projects I've been putting off for too long. I have a spare bedroom with 8 years of crap piled up. I mean, seriously piles and piles. It's where everything goes to die. So, that's number one on my list. I now have some awesome motivation to get my booty in gear!!!

And I will leave you with a warm and fuzzy. I'm a Christian. I've belonged to the same church my whole life. BUT, I don't go. We Baptists call it backsliding. I haven't been to church in two years. But my great aunt was telling our pastor about our situation and he put us on the prayer list and then prayed with her for my family. I also finally put our adoption plans on FB and got some awesome responses from my church family. You better believe I will be at church Sunday morning. I feel the need to be surrounded by these special people God has placed in my life. (And there, I've met my crying quota for the day.)

Happy hearts and good attitude!! (Yeah, I just got that off of Toddlers and Tiaras....junk TV)

  1. I can so relate to the being a backslider. I'm glad your church family is so supportive. I'm sure you are going to fill renewed when you start going back to church.

  6. Oh Jessica- Seriously?
Church is always a good idea. It's great to have fellowship and Bible study with other Christians. But we're all sinful humans and it's hard to avoid all the bs that goes on when we try to organize ourselves to be about God's work here on earth. Look for women who serve quietly, sincerely and earnestly to be your friends and mentors. It's all about strengthening your and your husband's walk with God and maybe helping or supporting others in theirs. Here are some blogs that I follow that have some good words from wise women.

I'll speak to you again, I guess. :) If I don't see you again before school starts (I hope we can get together again before then), have a great first day!

  7. Jess,
I have started going to church since my mom died. I need the comfort church gives me. I have always been a person with faith but I was never into "Man's Rule and Regulations" or all the church politics. However, I find that the comfort and prayer helps.
I will check out your friend's blog because any friend of yours is a friend of mine.
    Love ya!
